Effective 21 September 1992 · Northgate Rail Network / Northgate Dispatch

This one is real and in plain English. The paragraphs below are dressed in period style, but the substance is an honest, current privacy policy for the game Northgate Dispatch and this website. Where the two differ, the plain-English lines govern.

Who this covers

This policy covers the website at northgate-dispatch.com and the video game Northgate Dispatch (the "Game"). The Game and this site are made by an independent developer.

The short version

  • The Game does not require an account and does not ask for your personal details.
  • Your save data (grades, missions, settings) lives on your own device.
  • This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
  • We do not sell data. There is nothing to sell.

What the game stores

Northgate Dispatch saves your progress (your best grade per railyard, completed missions, and your preferences for terminal colour, audio and display) to a local save file on your computer. This file stays on your device.

If you play on Steam, Steam may sync that save via Steam Cloud and may record achievements and lifetime stats through the Steam platform, under Valve's own privacy policy. Steam also processes your purchase. We receive only aggregate, anonymized figures from Steam (for example, total wishlists or units sold); we do not receive your name, email, or payment details.

What this website stores

  • Local storage: the visitor counter uses your browser's local storage to remember you have visited. It never leaves your browser.
  • Server logs: the host may keep standard, short-lived access logs (IP address, page, timestamp) to keep the site running and secure. These are not used to profile you.
  • No third-party trackers, ad networks, or analytics pixels.

Children

The Game and site are not directed at children under 13 and do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Your choices

  • Delete the Game's local save file to erase your progress at any time.
  • Clear this site's local storage to reset the visitor counter for your browser.
  • Manage Steam-side data (cloud saves, stats) through your Steam account settings.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated date at the top of the page will change with it.

Contact

Questions about privacy can be sent through the Steam page for Northgate Dispatch. In character, address the Stationmaster at the kiosk. Out of character, the developer will read it.
